15 years ago Wetherby were in Yorkshire division 6, on the verge of withdrawing from the Yorkshire leagues. Thanks to the hard work, ambition and dedication of so many people within the club, Wetherby will be promoted out of the Yorkshire leagues for the first time in our history.

Huge congratulations and thanks must go to the players, who have been well led this year by Myles Oates and Elliott Reid, to the coaching team of Evan Woodworth, Geoff Brown and Joe Mason, and Physio Lauren Craven.

This promotion is testament to the focus on providing an excellent foundation through the mini/junior teams, before allowing home-grown players to excel at senior level. With the second team also finishing runners up in their league the first season after promotion, it’s fair to say there is a lot to be optimistic about at Wetherby next season.
